How I’m Reversing my Biological Clock

How I’m Reversing my Biological Clock by Sue Woledge

Hint: It involves eating a lot of meat and fat…

If you’ve just stumbled across me, I have to tell you that this is my 61st year in this body, and prior to switching to a carnivore diet in May 2022, my health (and my body) was crap!

I was aging FAST, and I honestly felt like I was at imminent risk of dying suddenly.

I was sick from mold exposure.

And I now realise that my heavily plant based diet with its copious plant toxins and pesticide residue, along with a lack of protein and animal fat, and my life long gut issues had set me up for the mold to impact me badly.

But two and a half years later I can confidently say that I’m on the mend, and the best thing is that I feel like I’m getting younger!

Reversing my biological clock – again!

This might sound weird, but the first time I felt like I was reversing my age was in my thirties.

My health was so bad in my late twenties that I felt like I was dying. I know right?… It’s unusual to feel like that at such a young age. Especially fourty years ago. But I was a heavy smoker and I was massively overweight. My mental health wasn’t great either, and those things combined with what I now realise are some genetic variations that affect the way my body detoxes (or doesn’t), meant that my body was struggling.

But shortly after my thirtieth birthday I turned all that around. I quit smoking, I started exercising, and when I look back I realise that I also started unconciously cleaning up my diet.

I had seven amazing years where my health improved massively. I felt like was getting younger and younger (even though I was still in my thirties) and life was good!

But then more life happened, and there were some ups and downs for a few years. But throughout those challenges, I managed to keep myself mostly well and looking okay for my age.

However the big downhill slide happened after we moved back to New Zealand almost ten years ago.

Subtle changes in diet and lifestyle, along with four and a half years of mold exposure in my workplace all took their toll.

But today, heading rapidly towards my 61st birthday, I’m happy to say that I’m back feeling like I’m getting younger and that’s a great way to be!

Eating a meat based diet is making me younger!

When I switched to eating a carnivore diet I felt some amazing and positive changes almost immediately. But it’s taken quite a while for those changes to begin showing on the outside.

My weightloss has been frustratingly slow (as discussed in recent videos), and over the past twelve months, drops on the scales have been non-existant. According to the scales I’ve been stalled for about a year!

And no matter what I do, what I change, what I try, it seems to me that my weight on the scales just doesn’t seem to want to shift. In fact over the past couple of months I’ve regained three kilograms (much to my dismay…).

I’ve also had some skin issues off and on. Some acne on one side of my face, red spots and patches, and variations in the amount of pain and inflammation in my body. All of which can change my appearance from one week to the next. I’m pretty sure a lot of this is still due to oxalate dumping.

But there have been positive changes happening. When I look back at earlier photographs and videos, I can see improvements in my face and my body, and I think that overall I’m definitely looking better.

Here’s a photo from around the time I started on Carnivore versus a more recent picture…

So even with the changes to my health as well as the obvious changes to my face and skin, I’ve been feeling a bit frustrated at the lack of weightloss. People say to not pay too much attention to the scales, and I know that they don’t count for much. But they still mess with my head.

Introducing the MeThreeSixty app

At the beginning of this year (2024), my sister told me about the MeThreeSixty app. It scans your body and then works out your measurements, estimated body fat and lean body mass, plus gives a visual of your body from the front, side and back.

I installed the app on my phone back in February and did my first scan. I did not like what I saw. I deleted the app and promptly forgot about it.

Until recently that is…

While mulling over my frustration about my lack of weightloss, the MeThreeSixty app popped into mind. I briefly considered re-installing it on my phone, and wondered if my original scan would be there. Then I got on with my day and forgot about it again.

That was until someone commented on one of my videos, and mentioned this very same app. So I reinstalled it and and presto! My original scan was there.

I wondered if there would be much difference between the first scan and now. I honestly didn’t think there would be much difference, but I decided to give it a go and see.

I’m an optimist!

And my punt paid off. These are my comparison images beween February and December 2024. There is ten months between these scans.

I was truly surprised!

These scans blew my mind. As I said, I thought there might be a little change (I was hopeful at least), but I didn’t expect this.

I knew that I’d had some body recomposition even without any weight loss. My body fat has reduced a bit, and I could tell by my clothes that there was a difference.

But this? Wow!

From ‘old lady body’ to ‘younger lady body’

The most exciting part of what I saw is how much straighter I am. I’ve been aware of how my head was too far forward, and how rounded my shoulders were for the past few years.

I knew that my ongoing shoulder issues (that have now resolved) were in part being caused by this.

I was fully aware of the dowagers hump that was getting worse and worse, and I ws quietly hopeful that my carnivore diet would help.

And it has!

With no weightloss on the scales this year, my body has changed, straightened and become healthier, with very little exercise and a mostly carnivore diet.

Meat does heal.
